Rayshirts

You are a RAYSHIRT, serving in one of the many ships of the Astrofleet of Federated Systems. FS is an ever-expanding alliance of sapient species, united in their mutual desire to bring the correct kind of democracy to the unenlightened masses from outside their sphere of influence. And yes, that includes the use of force. Your equipment was designed by the lowest bidder, your officers are often mired in bureaucracy and in-fighting between departments to focus too much of their attention on your well-being.

You are not expected to survive very long. But I believe in ya!

Based mostly on Troika! (with bits of 13th Age and Into the Odd thrown in for good measure), RAYSHIRTS is a retro science fantasy TTRPG designed for short and sweet adventures full of magic, mystery, and mayhem.

Note from Alan:
I wrote most of this game a couple of years ago for some OSR jam or other. For reasons of neurodivergence and general depression, I finished it now, during a very tough year. It is now a very tough year during which at least I released a project. So that's nice!
There is no bestiary, but I promise to make one if there's enough interest.
